I have a dual monitor system based on GeForce 7300GT card and 2 ViewSonic 22" monitors connected by DVI cables. Everything worked fine.

Windows XP assigned the first monitor (left) identity 1 and the second monitor (right) identity 2.

I needed more workspace so i bought GeForce 8400 GS on sale, plugged it in and connected my old Acer analog 17" monitor to it.

Everything is working fine. I see the desktop, can move windows around all 3 screens. The only problem is that for some reason the new monitor is assigned ID of 2 and the formerly monitor 2 gets pushed to ID 3. This breaks my ability to span windows across my main monitors when i need more space.

Why is the new analog monitor getting inserted between the other 2 monitors? I would have expected it to get ID of 3.

And how can i change it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

pelo que intendi, ela está com problemas na ordem dos 3 monitores ligados ao PC, 2 monitores ViewSonic 22' e um analogico de 17', o problema é que quando ela liga os dois de 22' funciona blz, mas quando ela liga o analogico ele se torna o monitor 2 e um dos de 22' se torna o monitor 3, ela tem uma 8400gs (que deve ser a mesma pocaria q eu tenho). Eu acho q num vai dar certo colocar um monitor menos com dois de 22', vai ficar muito estranho...

Eu tbm acho,e tbm não sei pra q 3 monitores,exagero.

amigo ... qual é a ideia desse topico , esse site é brasileiro , coisas em ingles não tem o menor sentido.
